The business problem
Form4Power explored market-analysis concepts based on Form 4 submissions. The application needed a way to retrieve information from EDGAR, organise it and make it usable within the product.
Data retrieval and application design were closely connected. The source information needed to fit a database model and support the behaviour expected from the application.
My responsibilities
My work covered database design, the architecture for data retrieval, data optimization and application architecture. I also produced a frontend prototype to explore how the product could present its information.
These responsibilities connected the data layer to the application and its proposed interface. The prototype was my frontend contribution; the wider development and production release were project outcomes.
The wider delivery
The project went through a full development cycle, including data retrieval and processing, and reached a production release.
For my portfolio, the useful story is the design of a data-dependent application: how information is brought into the system, structured and connected to a product experience. It makes no claim about investment returns or predictive accuracy.
